Davis Road Construction Projects

The City has several construction projects that will upgrade and improve City streets. To minimize construction disruptions, we have developed this website to provide information on the projects and alert travelers to expected traffic disruptions. As construction begins, we will update this site with new information on traffic impacts and detours. Construction schedules will be updated periodically and on a weekly basis after construction begins. For more information, contact the project manager listed. This map only shows major construction projects.

Bi-Weekly Transportation Update

Bi-weekly update on street closures, downtown parking, and other events affecting transportation

TIMEFRAME: Monday, October 20th through Sunday, November 2nd


Monday, October 20th - November 2nd:
Eighth Street Improvements: Between J Street and F Street. Street resurfacing project. Will result in lane and sidewalk closures due to work on sidewalks and ramps. Road closure for work in the railroad is anticipated to take place the week of October 27th (dependent upon railroad approval).

Friday, October 31st:
Downtown Davis Halloween Treat Trail: 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm. Downtown intersections and sidewalks will be filled with hundreds of children and families visiting downtown while in costume. Expect parking and traffic impacts.

During Timeframe:

Road Maintenance / Repairs: The City’s crack seal and patch project will be starting during this timeframe. The streets below are affected:

Long Term Projects:

Through  December: 239 G Street The sidewalk along Third St, east of the alley, will be closed and parking closed until sometime in December the sidewalk on G St will have intermittent closures for public safety during the same period.

Third Street Utility Undergrounding Impacts: Construction is winding down between A Street and B Street utility work will continue. Expect minor impacts.
D Street Partial Parking & Sidewalk Closures: Several parking spots on D Street and the sidewalk will be closed due to construction at the Coldwell Banker property at Second & D Streets.

501 Second Street: Will continue to be under construction.

Cannery (1111 E. Covell Blvd.): Cannery construction will continue for a long time impacts will continue to be high truck traffic.

  • B Street Improvements - 5th to 6th Streets

    When: Phase 1-March-May 2014/Phase 2-Summer 2014

    Where: B Street-Phase 1 between 6th and 14th streets-Phase 2 between 5th and 8th streets

    Hours of Construction: 7am-6pm, Monday through Friday

    Traffic Impact: Lane closures are possible throughout the work.

  • Fifth Street Corridor Improvements

    When: September 2013 through July 2014

    Where: Fifth Street, between A and L streets

    Hours of Construction: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays through Fridays

    Traffic Impact: Lane closures are possible throughout the work

  • Third Street - Temporary Street Lighting and Utility Line Undergrounding

    When: May 2014 through November 2014

    Where: Third Street, between A and B streets, and the B Street alley

    Hours of Construction: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays through Fridays

    Traffic Impact: Partial street closures are possible throughout project. Potential for power and gas outages when crossover occurs; notice will be provided to property owners.

  • Crown Castle Distributed Antenna System

    When: July 26th through December 2014

    Where: 21 areas throughout the city, starting at B and Sixth streets. Multiple crews will work simultaneously.

    Hours of Construction: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, with some exceptions

    Traffic Impact: Single lane closures
